Orthodontics and Aligners
Orthodontics is a specialized branch of dentistry focused on diagnosing, preventing, and treating dental and facial irregularities. Misaligned teeth and jaws can impact not only your appearance but also your oral health. At Young Smiles Family Practice, our skilled team uses the latest techniques and technology to correct these issues, ensuring your teeth function properly and look great.
Teeth can be straightened orthodontically using conventional braces or clear aligners.

What Can You Expect Once You Start Your Treatment?
Your Journey to a Perfect Smile
At Young Smiles Family Practice, we begin your orthodontic journey with a comprehensive consultation. Our experienced dentists will evaluate your teeth and discuss your goals to determine the best treatment plan for you.
Consultation and Treatment Plan
The process begins with consultation, X-rays and digital scans of your teeth to create your treatment plan. The dentist is going to decide which orthodontic treatment is best suited for you. If Aligners are the best option for you, we will analyze the data collected using Aligner software, we can accurately predict how your teeth will change over time. We can even show you how your teeth will look weeks, months and eventually at the end of your treatment. Once your digital plan is analyzed and finalized, your custom aligners are made and provided to you by your dentist with detailed information regarding its use.
Treatment Process
BRACES: After a thorough evaluation of all collected data, the dentist may determine that conventional braces are the most suitable treatment for your case. The dentist will explain the entire treatment process to you. Brackets will be bonded to your teeth, and a wire will be threaded through them to begin the alignment journey. This method will gradually move your teeth into their correct positions, resulting in a healthier, more beautiful smile.
ALIGNERS: Once the aligners arrive, special fasteners and some teeth adjustments are often necessary. These are bonded temporarily to your teeth so that you can easily clip in your aligners, but don’t worry, they’re mostly invisible and come off at the end of treatment. Set of Aligners are given to you and the dentist and the team will guide you in detail about its use.
Follow up Appointments
BRACES: For patients with braces, regular follow-up appointments are essential. You will visit our office every month so the doctor can evaluate your progress and ensure we are meeting our alignment goals. During these visits, the doctor will make any necessary adjustments to your braces, provide you with updated instructions, and schedule your next appointment. This monthly check-in will continue until we achieve the desired alignment of your teeth.
ALIGNERS: We will provide you with a series of clear aligners to wear, each for approximately two weeks. As you progress through each set, your teeth will gradually shift into their correct positions. To ensure your treatment is on track and make any necessary adjustments, you will have follow-up visits to our office roughly every 1-2 months. These appointments allow us to monitor your progress and ensure everything is moving smoothly towards your final, desired smile.
